He is a DJ, ceremonialist, meditation guide, and Founder of Converge — a wellness collective producing gatherings that bridge ancient wisdom with modern community.

With nearly 20 years behind the decks, Joey has performed at top clubs, festivals, and Ecstatic Dances worldwide, known for weaving emotionally resonant journeys that move from deep, hypnotic grooves to full-on dance floor bliss.

A longtime student of Nana Marina Cruz, spiritual leader of the Tz’utujil Maya people of Guatemala, he studies the Mayan traditions of Cacao and the Chol Q’ij sacred calendar. His ceremonial work is rooted in cultural respect, integrity, and psychological safety.

Joey brings both creative vision and operational leadership to large-scale productions. He served as Wellness Director for Elements Music & Arts Festival and is in his fifth year as Wisdom Keeper Lead at Lightning in a Bottle, supporting indigenous elders and ceremonial programming. At Burning Man, he curated the wellness program for Looners Camp and served as Music Director for the Playa One art car.

He collaborates regularly with conscious brands including Ecstatic Dance NYC, Dance Beyond, Daybreaker, and Envision in Costa Rica, and recently co-led retreats to indigenous villages in Colombia — helping birth Corazón del Mundo Cacao in partnership with the Arhuaco people.

Joey holds an MBA from EMLV business school in Paris, where he lived for two years — grounding his creative work in strategic thinking and professional execution.
